Will you come in procession? Our Blessed Lady asked St Bernadette to tell people to visit her at her shrine! Last year nearly 800 pilgrims travelled to Lourdes by Jumbulance with ACROSS. Many were so sick or disabled that this was the only way they could fulfil Our Lady’s wish. For many it was their first visit – and for some it was their last! All relied on the volunteer helpers, nurses, doctors and priests who accompanied them. Without them ACROSS could not exist! In this year dedicated to St Bernadette, will you help ACROSS make dreams a reality!! Helpers need not have experience, but should be fit and have a selfless love for others Pilgrimages leave each Thursday from throughout the UK from Holy week to November! ACROSS needs over £100,000 of voluntary income annually. Can you help? An ACROSS group at the Grotto in response to Our Lady’s invitation! 8 Full days spent in Lourdes for £620 – inclusive of travel, all meals, insurance, and transport in and around Lourdes. Special discounts for nurses. Applications invited from sick and disabled persons. Help found a Monastery in Hamilton, New Zealand

Twelve years after the foundation of Tyburn Monastery, Bombay, Auckland, New Zealand we received a cordial invitation from Bishop Denis Browne of Hamilton to establish another Tyburn Monastery in the Hamilton diocese to go with the monastery that is so effective in the Auckland diocese. The new monastery will be a place of retreat and recollection to which people could go as an oasis of prayer and reflection. Our General Chapter to whom the invitation was formally presented in April 2008 saw this as the work of the Holy Spirit prompting us to respond to Pope Benedict XVI’s call urging Benedictines to found more monasteries as the witness of the Benedictine vocation is particularly important in a de-sacralised world and an age marked by the worrying culture of the void and the absurd. Our Sisters began to establish our community in this new monastery, Tyburn Monastery Cor Iesu Fons Vitae in mid-March 2009 and the blessing and opening of the Monastery has

been set to 3rd May 2009. The site obtained in Ohakuri, a twenty-five minute drive south of Rotorua has a small building which can be used temporarily by the Sisters but still requires a lot of work and renovations and further building.

You can help! Your gift now will make you a “Founding Donor” and you will share in all the prayer offered in this new monastery each day.
