01tBANG KITEBOARDING Bang have thrown a flat rocker for easy planing and

acceleration in the BOWMOQ, and at 43 centimetres

wide, this board is also gifted with amazing light wind

performance. It's fast, and although it's wide, it's still

really responsive. Early intermediates will appreciate that

it's still easy to dig an edge in to slow down when you're

overpowered. Bow kiters looking for a board that can run

alongside the wind range of their kite will like it too.

There's plenty of pop for tricks - to land them you don't

have to be a pro: Bang believe this is the optimum width

for a board like this and makes landings so easy. Bigger

riders, you can bring it on as well! Size: 136cm x 43cm.

The Pimp's a little more rounded in nature and the

pintail guarantees effortless control and wave

compatibility. Bang say they've found another magic

form in this board too. Advanced kiters should

appreciate the perfect edges: designed to allow you to

carve hard, as well as load up enough power for

charged-up wakestyle tricks. Yet these edges, believe it

or not, are still forgiving enough for beginners to get on

with it. Carefully engineered flexibility puts you in

command of moves. Bang profess to offer boards with

no 'knick-knacks', hence their very competitive prices.

Size: 128cm x 38cm.

02tKEYPOD Has this happened to you? You're all fired up for a kite

session, parked the car, got kitted up - and then realized

there's nowhere safe to stash the car keys. In haste,

most of us make do with 'hiding' them somewhere on

the car, under the wheel arch, bumper or similar. Maybe

you've buried them in the sand? Under a rock? Oh yes

we've seen it, and then watched the frenzied aftermath

search, phone call to the locksmiths etc. etc.

This is where KEYPOD comes to the rescue. It's a

simple, robust, portable, weather-resistant, secure

storage safe for keys and other valuables, designed to

deter would-be thieves. It blends a three digit

combination padlock with an integrated storage cavity

which is large enough to hold even the poshest modern

electronic vehicle keys, household keys, spare change,

credit cards and even some mobile phones. Press the

button, pop the padlock and storage lid, put in your

stash, secure the padlock, shackle to a solid place on or

under the car, set the combination. Now all you need to

do is remember the flippin' code when you come in!

03tKITES METHOD As Hawaii's first instructor, John Holzhall had little

choice but to log hours and come up with real answers

to safe kiteboarding. In this 352 page book, 'Kite Super

Model' Clarissa Hemple takes riders step by step

through the most effective path from entry level to

expert riding! In the KITEs Method, there is no walking

or tea bagging. Riders start using the kite without bar or

lines and learn how to capture a centre of energy, then

counterbalance it. Instead of progressing to the

waterstart, riders learn the revolutionary upwind board

drag. The use of the board as a planing surface allows

riders to travel upwind long before they ever waterstart.

The book also details expert action, the Maui to Molokai

crossing, kite boating, snowkiting and a unique aerial

look at Maui's Kite Beaches. The book concludes with

kite specific water, wind and terminology glossaries.
