An Apology

Singletrack would like to issue an apology to you, our readership. Whilst assembling this, the latest issue of Singletrack, we were all quite busy with various things. Matt was growing his beard, Chipps was answering millions of Google search queries, Mark was practising his latest dance moves for his debut at Colne Working Men’s Club Pea and Pie Disco and Hardcore night, Ben was amassing a sneaker mountain and Sim was staring into space looking for inspiration. Or aliens. The usual things that happen around deadline time.

Anyway, we were all so busy that none of us had time to spare to model our latest t-shirt. In the absence of any staffers being free we were forced to use a passing lady.

We’re sorry.

We promise not to do it again.

Thanks

The Singletrack Team

p.s T-shirts are £14.99 from www.singletrackworld.com/shop

The fine people at

Mavic have given us not one wheel, or a pair,

but TWO pairs of Mavic wheels to give away to y ou this issue. A

prize fund worth over £1200! No matter whethe r you’re a skinny racing snake, or a

burly all-mountain rock pounder (or somewhere in between) you can pick the wheels that you

reckon will fit your bike the best.

Up for grabs we have a pair each of the svelte Ma vic Crossmax SLR Disc wheels and the rugged, all-mountain

Crossmax ST 20 – with a QR rear and a 20mm front.

And the question is: We have the 20mm thru-ax le version of the Crossmax ST to give away – how many different forms of the wheel

are available?

a) Two – the ST 20 and ST QR

b) Four – ST rim, ST Disc QR, ST Disc 20mm an d ST Disc Lefty

c) One – the ST 20

The answer can be found by looking at www.ma vic.com

Crossmax SLR Disc £660 a pair

The Crossmax SLR Disc wheels are the pinnacle of Mavic’s cross country range. Race-ready, tubeless-ready and they even come in a Cannondale Lefty option (and another version for die-hard rim brake users). Using Zicral alloy spokes, Mavic’s own hubs and ‘Fore drilled’ 21mm rims, they weigh a mere 1520g. Have a look at any pro cross country race and you’ll see them in action, it’s no wonder Mavic call them ‘the most crowned cross-country wheelset’ winning three world Championships and an Olympic title. And we have a pair for you to win!

Crossmax ST 20 £499 a pair

The Crossmax ST series is aimed at riders who want light wheels, but who ride in hard, demanding terrain and need reliable wheels. Featuring 23mm rims, Mavic’s reliable hub system and Zircral spokes (10% stiffer compared to steel spokes for the same weight) they’ll take chunky tyres without slowing you down. There are several options of the ST, including a QR front, but we’ve chosen to give away a 20mm front hub, QR rear wheelset to reflect the beefier use that this family of wheels are expected to cope with.
