Bright idea

To distress the edges of the photo, gently rub the edge of some fine sandpaper along it until the desired distressing is achieved. This also looks great on white core cardstock

Top tip

Add colour diversity by introducing other colours in small quantities which don’t feature in your main colour scheme or the photo. Here I’ve added green and brown by way of the small rub-ons

Why not try?

Consider raiding your children’s supplies. The title on this page was created using a letter stencil from a children’s stencil book!

Technique To create the title, use a letter stencil and draw around each letter needed using a fine-tipped black pen. Cut each piece out and mount to your layout for a stand-out effect. Using a black pen means the letters are highlighted around all edges when cut out, similar to the effect of inking the edge.
