1 year full-time, 2 year part-time Start date September 2006 Attendance Tuesdays and/or Thursdays The course venues are CARTE (70 Great Portland Street W1) and the University's historic centre at 309 Regent Street W1 • Museum and gallery visits • Work placements of your choice • No examinations - all coursework This theory based MA from the Centre for Art, Research, Technology and Education (CARTE) familiarises you with a range of historical and contemporary debates that inform visual culture. You will develop a conceptual framework within which to situate and evaluate the role of the visual arts in contemporary society and culture. Graduates from this course will be suitable for employment in the creative industries, including museum and gallery work, arts administration, education and marketing, or may pursue further study to PhD level. The MA will also appeal to practising artists wishing to further their research.
