By Kayleigh Williams As the search continued yesterday (Wednes-day) for an 84-year-old woman who was reported missing on Christmas Eve, police said they were keen to speak to anyone who has seen the canvas shopper trolley Madelena Whittaker used to collect firewood.
Search and rescue teams, dog patrols and the police helicopter were called in to look for her after she disappeared from her home on Boundary Lane, Congleton.
A friend last saw her in the town centre at around 5pm on Friday.
The next day a concerned neighbour reported her missing to the police.
A search was launched and

specially trained police officers were called in, as were the Association of Lowland Search and Rescue who were assisted by Search and Rescue Dogs Association England and search teams from as far as Cumbria and Yorkshire.
As the search was stepped up yesterday police appealed to help from walkers in the area where she was known to collect firewood.
