Dial-A-Ride rides again

Cheshire East Council has stepped in to re-introduce the Diala-Ride service in Congleton and Crewe.

The service will replace that previously operated by the charity East Cheshire Community Transport, which ceased to trade on 16th May.

The Dial-a-Ride service has not been running since.

The Dial-a-Ride charity bus service was axed after 25 years when the charity ran out of money.

One user, John Cookson, (91), of West Heath, Congleton, wrote to the “Chronicle” saying how much he relied on Dial-a-Ride, saying: “I am physically unable to use the ordinary buses and have come to rely upon the Dial-a-Ride service for my basic transportation to shopping locations.
