Green Parent The FESTIVAL AWARDS
Looking for a brilliant family event to take your tribe to this year? We asked our readers to vote for their favourite family festival and here are the winners.
JUST SO FESTIVAL is a family event packed with things for children (and adults) of all ages to do, from family yoga to storytelling, a wide range of bands to parkour workshops. Our readers love the relaxed vibe and the safe, inclusive environment. Babies are exceptionally well catered for with baby bathtime taking place nightly, massage classes, changing areas and of course the Breastfeeding Boudoir. The family run event has been exceptionally well thought out and even boasts a lost children service aiming to reunite any stray offspring with their parents as quickly as possible. “The highlight of my summer,” says Jayne. “In fact, the best festival I have ever been to – my daughter and I are so excited about going back, we can’t wait!” WIN TICKETS TO ‘JUST SO’ p24

GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL “You couldn’t possibly do it all in one festival! In the regular kids field there is a double decker bus where you can do all sorts of art and crafts activities, a massive sandpit, a circus skills tent, storytelling, a massive pirate ship and loads more. I was heavily pregnant last year and the NCT tent was an absolute godsend, feeding me free tea and fresh fruit.” OFF THE TRACKS “Super family friendly and quite cheap too. Lots of folk bands, drum worshops (not just for kids) a chill out area where you can do yoga classes,
have a massage or just walk around barefoot, plus funky hippy stalls and an oxfam tent.”

BEAUTIFUL DAYS “The organisers just get it so right. There is a great mix of bands, loads of kids stuff, a tent where teens can play electric guitar, drums, do drama, get henna tattoos etc.” SOLFEST “Lovely atmosphere, everyone is very friendly. The capacity is around 15,000 with a good children’s area, permaculture workshops and quirky little stages. Our kids love it because you can have campfires around your tent.”
