As some readers will know, we’ve published an alternative transport magazine called A to B for more than ten years. Miniature Railway is a sister publication aimed - like A to B - at everyone: experts in the field, as well as those with just a passing interest in transport. The ‘Miniature’ tag raises all sorts of issues. Generally speaking, a miniature railway is considered to be a scale version of a standard gauge line, but we’ve widened the brief to include scale replicas of full-size narrow gauge railways,and the growing number of lines that are based on nothing in particular, but are very much working lines in their own right.As for the rail gauge, we’ll be focussing on 7 1 / 4 ", 10 1 / 4 " and 15", because these small passenger-carrying lines are somewhat under-represented in other magazines.But expect to see anything that passengers can sit on,in or behind.Welcome to Miniature Railway!
