Whether you’re a long term subscriber, one of our many new subscribers, or you’ve just picked up a copy somewhere, welcome to Miniature Railway 11.Two interesting 5-inch gauge lines this time, and - talking about Southern bias (you’ll find this in the Letters) - one is in Dorset and the other in Spain! We’ve also taken a look back at the Dudley Zoo Railway - a historic 15-inch line that sadly failed to make it into the modern era. And we have a fascinating selection of photos from Eastleigh Lakeside, which cover 71/4-inch and 101/4-inch quite well. Oh, and advice on snow clearance, should the snow return with a vengeance in 2009-2010. Quite an interesting issue!

In MR10 we made a minor historical blunder and another small mistake in our summer diary. Apologies for that, and we’re working very hard to achieve 100% accuracy! Incidentally, we will be extending our summer ‘Open Days’ diary in issue 13, so if you run, or volunteer at, a railway big or small, do get in touch as soon as you have the dates and times.
