We seem to have given more or less equal coverage to 5-inch, 71/4-inch, 101/4-inch and 15-inch gauge lines in this issue, a balance we strive hard to achieve, but don’t always manage. Do keep the articles and ideas coming. You may think your own line is too humble (or indeed too grand) to be of interest, but rest assured - miniature railways are a very broad church.
Talking of grand railways, if you happen to own a theme park, or a very large country estate and have several million earning next to nothing in the bank, there does seem to be an overwhelming need for a really big 101/4-inch line in this country. Something along the lines of the legendary Surrey Borders & Camberley, where the most powerful historic and new-build machines can really stretch their legs. Something built - like the SB&C - as a double-track main line rather than a bucolic branch. Any takers? DAVID HENSHAW
