We have two wonderful and little seen railways for you this time - Stapleford and Torry Hill. The first is open to the public on rare occasions, but the latter is open to visitors by invitation only, so we hope you find the photographs and story as interesting as we did. Both have celebrated anniversaries lately - Torry Hill reached its 75th anniversary in 2007, and Stapleford is 50 years old this year.Oddly enough, our featured locomotive has an anniversary this year too, with Roger Marsh’s ubiquitous Tinkerbell reaching its 40th year.So it seems we have a theme (not that one was intended) about the sheer tenacity of miniature lines. Stapleford has survived against all the odds, and we’re sure Torry Hill is secure too. Here’s to many more decades!
