I’d like to think Christmas has come early in this issue with not one, not two but three great reader offers. First, assuming you’re reading this in the UK, there’s the giant 2011 wargame shows wallplanner free with every issue. Then there is our annual reader’s survey and prize draw with £275 of Ospreys to be won and, finally, three box sets of the History Channel’s series ThePacific:HellonEarthup for grabs in this month’s competition.
The show season is winding down now but MWwill still be at Recon in Pudsey on 4 December – hope to see you there – and then the show kit will be packed away until 2011. Several traders I have spoken to lately have said their takings were down at some of the autumn’s shows. A temporary belt-tightening on the part of customers with Christmas on the horizon or a harbinger of a deeper and longer period of austerity? Time will tell, as will the results of our reader’s survey which have proved an accurate barometer of wargamers’ spending habits over the last two years. As usual, the results of the survey will provide invaluable feedback for planning the direction MWtakes in the future. I look forward to hearing from you.
