This issue of MWrepresents a major milestone as, after 20 years, it will be the last to be produced by Pireme Publishing. I have sold the title to Atlantic Publishers, an established publisher of hobby titles, and I know the new owners are very keen to develop MWand take it forward in an ever-increasingly competitive magazine market. To quote Atlantic’s Trevor Ridley: “Myson,andco-director,andIhave beenfascinatedbythedevelopment ofthehobbysincewelastactively wargamed.Weareveryexcitedat theprospectofmovingintothenext phaseofdevelopmentofthisseminal publicationinthiscreativelyvibrant hobby”. Personally, I am delighted that the deal guarantees MW’s continued editorial independence and it remains safe from the clutches of a major manufacturer with a line of figures to peddle. Between us, we will endeavour to make the transition to the new ownership as seamless as possible. Subscriptions will continue to be handled by Warners while advertising sales will remain in the capable hands of Gareth Macfarlane and his new company Media Shed. You don’t get rid of me that easily, either, as I will be staying on as editor and guiding MWinto its next 20 years. Here’s to the next 20 years.
