MiniatureWargames has a long association with the Newbury and Reading Wargames Society and it’s a privilege to have once again been asked to produce the official guide to the club’s Colours show in September. Enclosed in full in this issue, it is designed to give you plenty of time to plan your visit to this always enthralling event. Talking of shows, I was fortunate enough to be able to visit Historicon in the US in July and I’m pleased to report a very favourable response to both MW and the new Hammer’sSlammers:The Cruciblebook. The event’s new venue in historic Valley Forge is a considerable improvement over the old one and this year’s Historicon was a resounding success all round with a noticeably larger contingent of Brits, both traders and visitors, in attendance. There will be a full report in the October issue so those of you that couldn’t make it will be able to catch up. All being well, when this issue appears in the shops Colette and I should be enjoying a short Bank Holiday break in the Canaries, so apologies if phone calls and emails are not responded to as quickly as normal while we’re away. But we’ll be back in time for Colours so I hope to see as many of you as possible there.
