COVER: Modern Carpets & Textiles for Interiors is a quarterly magazine focused on the best fine rugs and textiles being designed and made today. COVER also looks at market trends and innovations and examines the role of rugs and textiles in interior design.

COVER 34 (Spring 2014) is packed full of the best contemporary rugs and textiles that the market has to offer for the year ahead. This issue features reviews of the all-important January trade fairs Domotex Hannover, the Atlanta International Area Rug Market, Maison et Objet in Paris and imm Cologne. We report on upcoming shows Salone del Mobile in Milan, ICFF, Domotex Asia, and London design offerings plus international exhibitions by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos, Los Angeles-based artist Pae White, the new ‘Living Spaces’ show at the TextielMuseum Tilburg and the wonderful ‘Artist Textiles’ display at London’s Fashion and Textile Museum.

Looking forward to the world’s most important design fair Salone del Mobile in April 2014, we feature Jan Kath’s latest rugs from the Spacecrafted and Erased Heritage collections, which will be showing at EDIT by designjunction with COVER magazine. The Spring edition also features some of the funkiest rug collaborations around: Henzel Studio Collaborations volume 1 sees the work of artists Juergen Teller, Richard Prince, Linder and Helmut Lang turned into eye-dazzling rug designs; I+I rethinks traditional tiger rugs with a host of international designers and cc-tapis works alongside CTRLZAK Art & Design Studio to create a collection innovative hybrid rugs. All three collections will also be showing in Milan in April.

We cover the latest from Missoni Home and hotels, Alexander McQueen’s new rugs and tapestries for The Rug Company, the Art Day Project by Toronto’s Creative Matters and the Barchi collection by Ariana. Trends come in the form of pastel pink and depictions of the sky, while we contemplate the significance of the colour blue. Furthermore, there is the COVER calendar, our hotlist, news pages, a CDA review, plus so much more.
