Diesel & electric railway motive power – yesterday & today
TRACTION magazine is now approaching its 200th issue, and is recognised as the sole publication dedicated to the fascinating development of diesel and electric traction in the United Kingdom. TRACTION is now under the ownership of Atlantic Publishers and is bringing a fresh and vibrant impetus to this popular subject.
Atlantic will ensure that TRACTION remains in the forefront of covering this important era and, at the same time, being an exciting 'read' and an essential reference source.
The editorial content and direction is in the hands of Stephen Rabone, a magazine and book author of recognised talent, both of prototype and modelling subjects. He will be supported by regular columnists, such as Colin Boocock, an authorative author on prototype matters, and Paul Lunn, a keen model railway enthusiast and author.
The content of the magazine will cover all aspects of the modern day railway from the points of view of former and serving railway staff, historians of the railway scene, and of the enthusiast. In addition to covering the historical main line railway scene, TRACTION also looks in depth at diesel and electric power preservation, as well as the continuing use of older locomotives on the national network.
