Diesel & electric railway motive power – yesterday & today

TRACTION magazine, fast approaching its 200th issue, is recognised as the sole publication dedicated to the intriguing aspect of the development of diesel and electric traction in the United Kingdom. From issue 197, May/June 2011 on sale early in April, it will be under the new ownership of Atlantic Publishers and we believe this will bring a fresh and vibrant impetus to this popular subject. Atlantic has established a series of clear aims to ensure that TRACTION remains to the forefront in covering this important era and at the same time is an exciting 'read' and an essential reference source. The editorial content and direction will be in the capable hands of Stephen Rabone, a name familiar to all in the hobby, a magazine and book author of recognised talent, both prototype and modelling. He will be supported by regular columnists, such as Colin Boocock, an authorative author on prototype matters.
