Don’t miss out on the special photo events that will be taking place over the weekend for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shoot an historic display of steam, diesel and electric locomotives – without the crowds! An evening shoot under fl oodlights takes place on May 24 from 20.45 to 23.00, and ‘Early Bird’ entry tickets are available on all three days of the event from 08.00. Pete Waterman book signing After opening the event, railway enthusiast and TV star Pete Waterman will be signing books in the Stafford Railwayana Auctions UK exhibition area on May 23.

Limited Edition ‘Eastleigh 100’ painting Top railway artist Philip D. Hawkins, FGRA, is creating a special picture depicting Southern Pacifi cs for the event. Limited edition prints will be on sale at the event.

The Great Railway Bazaar Around 85 railway-themed trade stands have already booked for this event, creating a great undercover railway marketplace. There will also be other attractions such as model railways, vintage vehicles and traction engines around the site.

Railwayana display and valuation service Stafford Railwayana Auctions UK, who hold regular auctions at Stafford, are offering a free Railwayana ‘antiques roadshow’ valuation service throughout the event in the old paintshop. This will be available against a backdrop of a huge Southern themed totem and target display.

Vintage shuttle buses Vintage buses will operate between Eastleigh Council offi ces, Eastleigh station, Campbell Road steps and Southampton Airport station.

Railtours

THREE railtours are running to the event on May 23 from London, Norwich/ Cambridge, Crewe and the West Midlands. All will give a good half-day to visit the event including admission.

‘Merchant Navy Class No. 35028 Clan Line makes a rare trip to Eastleigh on a non-’Orient Express’ service from Waterloo promoted by UK Railtours. The Railway Touring Company and Spitfi re Railtours are also operating charters to the event from Norwich and Crewe respectively.
