(GREAT) CENTRAL RESERVATION! A pair of red and silver Santa Fe ‘warbonnets’, led by the then new GE Dash 8-40B No. 571 and GP60M No. 138, make an amazing sight leading two other locos hauling a westbound double-stack container down the centre of the multi-lane interstate 210 in Pasadena, California, on July 26, 1992. Two years later, the line ceased operation, was sold and now forms part of Los Angeles Country Metro system’s Gold line– operated by modern tram cars. RICHARD SUGG
