NOISE
6-24 THE NOISE This month, we delve deep into You Me At Six’s do-or-die third album and the all-star collaborations that fuel it. We celebrate the winners and LOL at the losers in our Download Festival Awards, former Escape The Fate frontman Ronnie Radke introduces his hotlytipped new band Falling In Reverse and we take you into the studio for a sneak-peak at the forthcoming Mastodon album ‘The Hunter’. You can also win the chance to go to Reading & Leeds, a swish digital radio and some sweet new threads. Don’t say we’re not rad to you.
26-36 EXPOSURE Hyper-melodic punkers Heartsounds lead the charge in this month’s Exposure! We also get down to the Biffy-tinged post-rock flavour of 22 and progressive tech-metallers Visions melt faces and drop jaws. UK punks Basement drop their eagerlyawaited debut album, The Mire combine ambience and brutality and there’s more from Amaranthe, Atlas&I and Slabdragger.
42-74 FEATURES The King Blues, We Are The Ocean, Twin Atlantic and Deaf Havana lead the charge for the UK. We could say they’re the Feel Good Brits Of The Summer but, y’know, we won’t. Elsewhere, Fred Durst tells us the inside story behind ‘Gold Cobra’, five go mad in Amsterdam as Enter Shikari hit it hard and IWrestledABearOnce

genuinely talk about having sex with a bear. The well bonks Dir en grey discuss conspiracy theories and Jamey Jasta goes solo and Big D And The Kids Table make their triumphant return.
76-97 REVIEWS Kids In Glass Houses return with their all-important third album and Paramore and My Chemical Romance make their European live return! Elsewhere, we rate albums from Jasta, IWABO, Basement, Cerebral Ballzy, Theory Of A Deadman, Gold Kids, Dead And Divine and more, go live and loud with Jimmy Eat World, Converge, Boris and more and our ol’ mucker Dallas Green reviews this month’s singles.
nationalism but there’s no denying there’s a whole load of bands from the British Isles who are absolutely killing it right now. And what’s most exciting about the likes of Deaf Havana, We Are The Ocean, The King Blues and Twin Atlantic is that each band is creating their own path – there’s no bandwagon in sight and nothing linking them other than the fact they’re all, well, awesome. And all of us here at Rock Sound are more than a little excited about the rest of summer – Hevy’s around the corner, which is going to kick arse – and there’s going to be something special for all of you towards the end of the year too… but I couldn’t possibly tell you what it is yet. So for now, remember one thing: unless it’s snowing, it’s barbecue weather. Ben Patashnik, Editor rocksound.tv [3]
