Russian army, which lost around 6,000 troops.

The Thin Red Line During the Battle of Balaclava on October 25, 1854, the British red-coated 93rd (Highland) Regiment. aided by a small force of Royal Marines and some Turkish infantrymen, routed a Russian cavalry charge.

W lc m t Of all the memories we store up over the years, it is those relating to summertime which are often recalled with the most fondness. Whether it is a particularly enjoyable holiday or just a fun day out, many of our clearest memories are bathed in sunshine, with the sounds of that summer’s hit parade providing a suitably sultry soundtrack.

Whatever the reason, there is something about the sunshine that brings smiles to faces and puts most of us in the mood for some fun!

Of course, the weather can never be guaranteed. As I write this welcome message the sun is beating down and my lunchtime sandwiches are curling up at the edges, but the heat may be long forgotten by the time you read this. If so, then I’m sure the contents of this summery issue will provide more than enough seasonal cheeriness and magical memories to brighten up your day!
