When I think back to my childhood, my fondest memories often revolve around holidays. Butlins at Skegness and only wanting to go on the green cars of the chairlift, the first time I flew and the excitement I felt as the plane lifted off from the ground (scares me to death now!), as well as the pasties and cakes on assorted UK beaches. Small details that stay in my memory forever. I’m sure there are loads more that I have forgotten. I can look back at holiday photos but they don’t always tell the whole story; so remember to capture every little moment, odd as some of them may seem, while you’re out and about this summer. Our designers have been capturing their summer holidays too, and you can see the results on page 18. As people acquire more and more stash, the problem of how to store it grows as well. We’ve taken a look at some storage options on page 70, which provide great solutions for any craft space or room. Transparencies are one of the hottest trends in scrapbooking at the moment – Hebe shows you how to get started with them on page 44. You’ll also find some great tips for adding dimension with texture on page 22, and Missy Neal tries out the effect of scalloped edges on page 28. Meanwhile, on page 34 Kirsty Wiseman looks at perfecting our use of brads and doodles for striking and cost-effective results, plus we encounter layouts with multiple photographs and look at the summer’s hottest new products, as well as providing you with all our usual news and inspiration. Whatever your plans are for the summer holidays, we hope you enjoy them and that the weather improves!
