To mark the tenth anniversary and to launch the 9/11 London Project, this public work of art ‘After 9/11’ was commissioned on 5 September. It was designed by Miya Ando using steel columns from the World Trade Center. It will stand in Battersea Park throughout September. The steel remains exactly as it was recovered from Ground Zero but the steel panel (above) has been ‘transformed into a reflecting surface reflecting the light, the air and sky and the city – our defiantly vibrant multicultural standing city’. The sculpture is still seeking a permanent home. For more information on the 9/11 London Project visit: www.911londonproject.com or info@911londonproject. com Photo: Trish Carn. See pages 7-9.
