2BBC iPlayer update £free The app that started the video-on-demand revolution has been given a makeover aimed squarely at the living-room. Debuting on the Sony PS3, it will come to smart TVs and other devices over the coming months – the new-look iPlayer claims improved search features alongside superior usability.
3Sony NWZ-S760 £TBC Two new portable video players from Sony should be in your shops by the time you read this. The flagship NWZ-A860 has a 2.8in touchscreen LCD, integrated Bluetooth and comes in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB sizes. Also new is the NWZ-S760, left, with similar features, a huge 50-hour battery life for music – and a choice of 8- and 16GB models.
4Pure Move 2500 £90 Pocket DAB radios are few and far between, so Pure has clearly spied a gap in the market. The Move 2500 delivers DAB, DAB+ (for using abroad) and FM, and claims to offer 14 hours of continuous listening from its rechargeable battery. Slimmer and smarterlooking than Pure’s previous efforts, the Move has 10 DAB and 10 FM presets and a backlit display. Rechargeable via USB or standard mains power, the £90 Move 2500 is out now.
5Bose Companion 20 £200 We can think of cleverer ways to get the music from your computer in to your home but if you’re after something nice and simple, then how about this Bose system? The Companion 20 is a simple stereo speaker package. There’s a circular control pod that gives easy access to the volume controls, headphone jack and an extra line input should you want to connect another portable device. Bose’s TrueSpace digital signal processing is on board, too. It’s available now in silver.
