Since 1976 Art Monthly has consistently offered informed and highly readable coverage of the British and international art scene. Noted for the independence and quality of its features, interviews, artist profiles, reviews, news and editorials, Art Monthly remains a major forum for debate on the key issues surrounding modern and contemporary art.

The trial issues include a feature on the future of art education, Dave Beech on ‘Shock v Awe’ and the avant garde, Marcus Verhagen on ‘Nomadism’ and Adam E Mendelsohn on the retrieval of history through re-enactment. Frederika Whitehead reports from the 08 Taipei Biennial and AJ Stooke profiles the Ars Electronica digital arts festival.

As well as feature articles, each issue contains exhibition and book reviews. The trial issue has reviews of Gillian Wearing, Edward Krasiński, Clegg & Guttman, Keith Coventry, and Henry Lydiate contributes one of his regular columns on Art and Law. He also contributed to the first issue, in 1976.
